Bingo History
Edwin S. Lowe came across a country carnival. He decided to stop by and
have a look. While looking around he saw a bunch of people packed into a
carnival booth playing a strange game. These people had cards in front of
them and they had a bunch of beans also. As he watched, he could hear a
person calling out numbers. A person would yell "Beano" when they won.
The winner would then receive a small prize. Lowe then knowing something
good ran home to New York and had these cards printed up. He invited some
friends to his home to play the game. He could see the excitement in their
eyes as they became closer and finally winning the game. The rest is
history. Today, Bingo is played everywhere from church halls, Indian
Reservations to playing bingo on the internet.
